Sendhil Ramamurthy’s EXCLUSIVE interview with SendhilRamamurthy.net!

 In Interviews, Press

We managed to nab the FIRST interview with Sendhil in over a year and a half (and a week before the press junket for Beauty and the Beast!)! We reached out to the fans on our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/SendhilRamamurthyNet) for some questions and he was gracious enough to answer a few! Enjoy!

Hi Sendhil, thank you so much for taking the time to answer some questions for SendhilRamamurthy.net! We’ve reached out to the fans and here are some of the questions they wanted to ask you!

You’ve mentioned in the past how much you wanted to film in New York City, how was it filming The Lifeguard last summer?
Filming with Kristen was fun but shooting in NYC was brutal at that time of the year. It was unbelievably hot and humid and everyone was dripping with sweat. You can see the sweat on us in the scenes. My hair is soaking wet at the back. It was a fun experience overall though and Liz Garcia was great to work with. Definitely want to film again in NY but preferably in spring!

What is your favorite film of all time?
This is such a tough question! I love big sweeping epic movies. Lawrence of Arabia and Dr. Zhivago are two of my all time favorites, but right up there with them are 12 Angry Men, Inherit The Wind, On The Waterfront, and too many others to name. Oh, also LOVE watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with my kids.

If you got three scripts tomorrow and the films were Romance, Comedy, and Action genres, which would you be most likely to choose?
Depends what mood you catch me in. Right now, it would be action because I’ve really been wanting to be James Bond lately. I love James Bond films. Connery is my favorite, then Craig, then Brosnan, then Moore, then everyone else. If you were to ask me what my dream role was it would definitely be James Bond.

One last film question for you! What is your favorite part of the film making process?
If you had asked me prior to last year I would have said collaborating with the other actors but I have just co-produced and starred in my first film called Brahmin Bulls, and the experience of working from the ground-up on a film is without question the most satisfying film experience I have ever had. Working with Mahesh Pailoor has been an extraordinary experience. We have been working on this script for Brahmin Bulls since the 2nd season of HEROES. I hope people get the opportunity to see the film soon. I also love the locations I have had the opportunity to travel to for work. That is a serious perk to being an actor.

Would you consider doing a play in the future?
I would love to do a play again. It has been too long and I hope I haven’t lost my nerve to get back up there. I was offered a really terrific part in a play 2 years ago but couldn’t do it because I was working. I plan to make it a priority to do a play in either NYC or London within the next 2 years.

Allison – If you could hit with any tennis player past or present who would it be?
There are sooooo many people I would love to hit with but if I had to pick just one it would be Federer. He is the GOAT (greatest of all time –ed.).

Dref – Is there a kind of role that you would never accept?
You know that scene at the beginning of “Coming to America” where Eddie Murphy claps his hands and says “WIPERS” and this guy has to come out and be the guy who wipes the kings ass? I don’t think I would play that guy…although you can only really go up from there.

Beverly – Do you prefer living in New York, Los Angeles or London?
I spend part of the year in all those cities because I can’t pick just one. Actually that’s a lie. I only go to L.A. for work. I don’t really care to be there otherwise.

And finally, is there anything you’d like to say to the fans?
Just THANK YOU for your support! I am always so floored that people take the time to write to me and ask questions or request signed pics, etc. I can’t always get to everyone, which I hate, but I am so grateful for people taking the time to care about and watch what I do. I hope you guys enjoy BATB. Its going to be a fun ride and the show is really coming into it’s own in these last 9 episodes. I think people are going to be surprised with the show and with the direction Gabe goes in. All is not what it seems. I am having a great time and really enjoying working with the cast. They’re all very cool and very good at what they do. Please tune in and check it out! My first episode airs March 14th.

Thank you so much. We know your time is valuable and we appreciate that you took the time out to answer our questions!
