Sendhil Ramamurthy in new Quaranscene!
Sendhil Ramamurthy in a new quaranscene? It’s true! Didn’t manage to catch Sendhil Ramamurthy in last year’s Hatef*ck? Don’t fret if you didn’t, playwright Rehana Lew Mirza created a “quaranscene” for us to enjoy which reunites Sendhil and his co-star Kavi Ladnier as their characters, Imran and Layla.
Hatef*ck played at the WP Theatre in March of 2019 to stellar reviews from the New York Times who called the show “Smart, mouthy, and sexy.” and Timeout who proclaimed that Hatef*ck was “Complete and provocative! Fun to watch.”
In 2019, The WP Theater teamed up with Colt Coeur to present the world premiere of the 2017 Kilroys List play Hatef**k. Passions ignited when Layla, an intense literature professor, accused Imran, a brashly iconoclastic novelist, of trading in anti-Muslim stereotypes. But as their attraction grew into something more, they discovered that good sex doesn’t always make good bedfellows. Conflicting cultural identities collided in this thornily clever antidote to a “meet-cute” romance, which reunited Heroes stars Kavi Ladnier and Sendhil Ramamurthy. Adrienne Campbell-Holt (WP Theater’s What We’re Up Against) returned to WP Theater to direct this bracingly insightful new play by Rehana Lew Mirza.
Those of you who have followed Sendhil’s career since his days on Heroes may recognize Kavi as Mohinder Suresh’s love interest Mira.

Now, your donation has extra impact – we are partnering with Sanctuary for Families, 25% of all donations made to WP Theater during our #WomenToTheFront Campaign (up to $10,000) will go directly to Sanctuary for Families to support survivors of gender violence.
